PORTLAND, Oregon — The Broadway Bridge will close to all traffic during late night hours through Friday for contractor work on the drawbridge. The bridge is predicted to be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. in the morning. Thursday-Friday, August 9-10. Crews continue some of the final work to replace the 4 original Rall wheels and tracks that raise the bridge. During the closure, the Portland bridge will need to be in the up position for long periods.

The Bridge Closure Will Force Portland Commuters Elsewhere

Portland drivers should choose an alternate river crossing bridges, like the Fremont or Steel bridges. Bikes and pedestrians may want to use the Steel or Burnside bridges as alternates.

Night time paving of the ramp from I-5 northbound to I-84 eastbound continues and has the area closed 10 p.m.-5 a.m. nightly through Sunday, August 12. Drivers looking to access I-84 eastbound from I-5 northbound will need to take Interstate 405 northbound to I-5 southbound and exit to I-84 east near the Rose Quarter.

SOUTHWEST PORTLAND 7:46 a.m.: Injury crash on Southwest Barbur Boulevard at 64th Avenue, in the area of the freeway on and off ramps to I-5.

CLACKAMAS 7 a.m.: Tow truck with a stall in the left emergency lane on I-205 northbound at OR 212. No blocked travel lanes, but it’s tight. Watch for quick slowing.
