In 2025, Mini is updating its Cooper hatchback, and they’ve just unveiled the new five-door model. The five-door Cooper shares a lot of similarities with the three-door version, but it’s about six inches longer. The initial release will be the Cooper S model, featuring a 201-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The 2025 five-door Cooper is essentially a stretched version of the three-door, measuring about six inches longer. This extra length increases the space for passengers and cargo, making it about the same size as the previous five-door model.

The exterior maintains the classic Mini look, including the round headlights and compact stance, but with the addition of an extra set of doors. Buyers can choose between 16- and 18-inch wheels to customize the look of their vehicle. Inside, the cabin retains the familiar Mini design, with unique textiles covering the dashboard and a large circular infotainment screen at the center. The simple interior layout does not include a traditional gauge cluster, but there will be options like a head-up display and voice-command-operated infotainment system. Additionally, the rear seats can be folded down to create more storage space.

While the global version of the Cooper will come with a three-cylinder engine producing 154 horsepower, all U.S.-bound five-door Coopers will feature four-cylinder engines.

The first model to be available in the U.S. will be the Cooper S, equipped with a turbocharged inline-four engine delivering 201 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque through a seven-speed automatic gearbox. Mini plans to introduce a Cooper C model with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, but the horsepower and torque ratings for this model have not been disclosed yet.

Production of the five-door Cooper will begin in July, with the Cooper S hitting dealerships in September. The base-model five-door Coopers will go on sale in the U.S. starting in January 2025. The starting price for the Cooper S five-door will be $34,195, while pricing for the Cooper C model will be announced later.
