A man accused of sexually attacking one woman in Portland. He assaulted the woman then stole her car and then assaulted another woman on Monday. He is expected in court on Wednesday.
Police arrested Sergio Jose Martinez who was the suspect in both cases.
On Monday a 65-year-old woman from 1700 block of NE Irving Street called the police and reported that a man who wore only jeans broke into her home and assaulted her physically and sexually.
Then the man stole the woman’s Prius, which later was found in Southeast Portland.
Besides, police were also called out to 2100 block of NE Halsey Street for a fight between a man and woman in a parking garage. The suspect is accused of assaulting the woman with a knife. Answering officers arrested the suspect and finally placed him in custody. Both the guilty man and the victim were hospitalized. They did not have any life threatening injuries.
Neighbors told that they helped the police chase and arrest the suspect.
Martinez is facing theft, abduction and beating charges in connection with the parking garage attack, as well as theft, robbery, sodomy and sex abuse charges in the early morning attack. He was booked into the Multnomah County Jail.
According to recognizance documents from a previous case, Martinez has been previously deported to Mexico.
